Flight thoughts 2015

Singapore Time

9.45pm

We’re on board the flight now onward to Dubai! Olivia came to send me off, and it’s the first time meeting her boyfriend 😉 So anyway, it was kinda sad that my parents are both overseas and my brother’s in the army and they couldn’t send me off 🙁 Woke up really early this morning to drive dad to the airport for his business trip to Tokyo. Felt really sad when i saw him walk through the gate.

The whole feeling of leaving this time round feels a whole lot different compared to the last. It was less scary and definitely not alone.

Flew via Emirates, and it’s my first time taking the flight! The interior of the plane looks better than SQ’s. They even have glowing stars on the ceiling when the lights dim down. Now I can say i’ve done stargazing while being in the air. They even provided an aerial camera view of the aircraft during take off. Cool beans. Did i also mention that the screen is also bigger than SQ’s??

10.10pm

So this guy two rows down from where i’m sitting have been complaining that the aircon’s blowing directly at his head. He got up and walked one row back and sat at the vacant seat in front of us. This kind man who was sitting alone by the window offered his seat to them in exchange. How nice.

10.20pm

Got the menu for dinner on board and there’s green curry! Looking forward to it, but i’m not sure how much i believe in airplane’s food anymore. But of course, there’s the option of instant noodles when all else fails. Speaking about food, what shall be the first thing to eat when we’re back in London!!!!!? Is it weird that i’m thinking about fried carrot cake now and har gao. and oh my god, chestnut cake?? Sudden realisation, did i not have yong tau foo at all since i went back to Singapore? I can’t seem to recall actually eating it. Tofu, yes, loads of it, but YTF, i can’t remember.

I see them bringing food out already, dinner time! Be back later! 8D

12.10am

So the green curry was disappointing. But the little snacks and crackers they provided at the side made up for it. They even gave a little packet of tic tacs for after the meal! Just a thought though, why are their drinks not cold???

2am

It’s so uncomfortable to sleep on the plane. But the woman next to me seems to be sleeping damn well. She has both her feet propped up on the seat in front of her. Oh yes, Emirates, you need to have the foot rest thingy on the seats! (why don’t you have it). The glowing stars on the ceiling looks really pretty though. *_* We’re gonna be landing in Dubai soon! Can’t wait to get a good stretch and walk about. Hopefully the gate’s not too far away.

Dubai Timezone

1.15am

So we got out of the plane and scurried towards our boarding gate for the transit flight towards London. It’s my first time in Dubai, and boy, the airport is filled with so many people. We had to take an internal train to get to our next boarding gate.

But hey, it’s another 7 hours before arriving in London. CAN’T WAIT. I’m really tired and my back hurts >:(

2.30am

Boarded the flight and there are missing passengers, so it’s being delayed for a bit. There’re so many people asking for a change of seats and what not. SO TROUBLESOME. But kudos to the air stewardess for being so patient and constantly smiling even though these demanding passengers deserves a slap. No feel to watch anything now, so i shall go to sleep. Hopefully when i wake up, we’ll be landing in London.

6am

Fell asleep when the plane took off the woke up periodically feeling groggy and even more tired. They’re about to serve breakfast and i’m not sure if i want to eat it. I’m hungry, but what if the food is yucky again 🙁

— ok food’s here. Scrambled eggs or Omelette?

7.30am

I went for the omelette.

and i have no idea why they gave so much baked beans, the juice from the baked beans drowned my omelette. YUCKS. – inserts long sigh – Thankfully the bread and crackers were ok. I NEED A GOOD CUP OF COFFEE RIGHT NOW PLEASE.

oh hey, it’s the sunrise.

—

OKAY, WE’RE REACHING LONDON SOON. Think the plane’s flying over Amsterdam now. YES YES YES. Can’t wait to get out of the plane and hopefully get a good sleep when i’m back in the apartment.

Check back soon x
