Blakes London – The Courtyard

Food, London - November 18, 2015

This breakfast/brunch spot is really one of those places where you go there and you’ll constantly find yourself saying, “oh wow, it’s so pretty!”. Apparently, there is only one ‘birdcage’ dining area in the whole restaurant and it requires advanced booking if you intend to go there to dine in this beautifully decorated cage!

I would suggest going there for breakfast as there isn’t as many people, and their breakfast menu’s the most affordable! The entire set up in the birdcage is definitely a visual candy. The roof of the cage is strung with flowers that have dried up from summer when they were hung up fresh. But i think that dried flowers looks just as pretty!

I think that the cage sits up to 5 people comfortably, and they have a heater in there for winter visits, so you don’t have to worry if it’ll be too cold dining outside.

I think this is a good alternative to fine dining. It’s friendly to your wallet, and it’s a hidden gem located within the housing area of South Kensington. We saw photos of the courtyard online and we got excited, so I managed to call in and booked the place 2 weeks in advance. There’s actually a better chance of getting a slot during the midweek compared to the weekend.
